List of Most Beautiful Places of Pakistan

After travelling through Pakistan for a month, I am still in awe of the country’s natural beauty. Forget everything you’ve heard about Pakistan in the news; I’m about to show you a side of the country that will change your opinion of it.

I was in Pakistan as part of the International Entrepreneurship Summer School Program with the Karachi Institute of Business Administration. We spent the first ten days in the classroom and exploring Karachi, followed by two weeks travelling around the rest of the country and seeing so many amazing places in Pakistan.

This post will highlight ten of Pakistan’s most stunningly beautiful places to inspire you and hopefully give you a new perspective on this country. This list is not in any particular order because how can you choose between so many stunning locations?!

1. Hunza Valley

Hunza, out of all the beautiful places in Pakistan, completely stole my heart. This mountainous valley in Pakistan’s Gilgit-Baltistan region is often referred to as “heaven on Earth,” and it’s easy to see why.

Some of Pakistan’s most impressive mountain ranges surround Hunza. These, combined with the lush green valley beneath them, provide breathtaking views at every turn.

Check out these spots for the best views in Hunza:
Baltit Fort
Eagles Nest

2. Passu Cones

The Karakoram Highway is dotted with spectacular mountain ranges, but the Cathedral Range, also known as the Passu Cones, was one of the most striking.
Views of the Passu Cones begin to appear near Gulmit. We were rewarded with spectacular views from our hotel, The Gulmit Tourist Inn, which was just outside the hotel door.
You can get even better views if you drive a little further down the Karakoram highway from Gulmit. The words ‘Passu’ written on the road indicate a safe place to pull off the highway and take some photos. The cones are especially beautiful at sunset when the light hits the mountain range. It’s one of the most unusual mountain ranges I’ve seen, and it’s a highlight of Pakistan’s northern areas.

3. Khunjerab Pass (Pak-China Border)

Borders have always fascinated me, and the Pakistan-China border was no exception. To begin with, getting to the border requires driving through the Khunjerab Pass, which rises to a total elevation of 4,673m (over 15,000 feet)! It was completely surreal to travel from lush valleys below to snow-capped mountains at the top. It’s the ideal place to stop on a road trip through Pakistan.

I wasn’t expecting to see snow in Pakistan, especially in the middle of summer, but it was almost a white-out at the border!

Snow isn’t a big deal for a Canadian like me, but it was great fun to see how excited the Pakistanis who had never seen snow before were. And, as usual, the locals were displaying their patriotism at the border with flags and songs. It’s not only beautiful but also a lot of fun to be in!
