Emirates will be the first airline to provide a regular commercial service with the Airbus A380 to Istanbul, Turkey, starting on October 1st.
Travellers will now get the chance to enjoy the luxurious flight experience of flying on the famous double-decker jumbo aircraft for the first time.
A380 will run on the EK123/124 service every day.
The flight EK123 departs Dubai at 10:45 a.m. and arrives in Istanbul at 2:25 p.m.
EK124 departs Istanbul at 16:25 and arrives in Dubai at 21:50 the next day.
By equipping its three-class A380 with 14 first-class suites, 146 business-class mini-pods, and 427 economy-class seats, Emirates will be able to increase passenger capacity on every trip by over 150 people compared to the existing Boeing 777-300ER.
Finally bringing our flagship to Istanbul will let us to provide our service to even more locations with the A380, which will be a tremendous advantage for us.
Over the last 34 years, Emirates has transported six million passengers on more than 23,000 flights since we began flying to Turkey.
Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ chief commercial officer, stated, “Bringing the A380 service to Turkey is a significant milestone for Emirates and we want to thank all our partners and stakeholders for their assistance in making this a reality.”
With 118 presently in its fleet, Emirates is the world’s biggest operator of the A380.
In the wake of Airbus halting manufacturing of this aircraft, the airline is currently the only remaining customer of the type.
